CANTON, Ohio — The Canton Charge (19-17), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, were defeated by the Delaware 87ers (20-16), 117-110, in front of 3,395 at the Memorial Civic Center on Friday night.
On assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kay Felder scored a game-high 32 points on 13-of-25 shooting with six assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes. Kay is averaging 30.7 points and 6.0 assists in his three appearances with the Charge this season. John Holland netted 29 points on 13-of-19 shooting with seven assists in 42 minutes. All five Charge starters scored in double figures.
Shawn Long’s double-double of 23 points and 10 boards in 35 minutes paced Delaware. Russ Smith scored 20 points and had two steals in 23 minutes. James Webb III posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds with two steals in 41 minutes. The 87ers bench outscored the Charge reserves 46-9, with Nate Robinson coming in to add 12 points in 28 minutes.
Jonathan Holmes put up his second double-double in as many games with 18 points with 11 rebounds in 43 minutes. Eric Moreland had his 18th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds with five blocks in 32 minutes. Roosevelt Jones had an all-around effort of 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists before leaving the game after 22 minutes with an oblique strain.
