MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO — It all comes down to Thursday night.
Toronto Raptors assignee Pascal Siakam poured in 32 points to carry Raptors 905 to a 95-85 victory over the RGV Vipers, forcing a winner-take-all NBA D-League Finals Game 3 (Thursday, 7 PM ET, ESPNU).
With DeMar DeRozan, DeMarre Carroll and others from their parent club in attendance, the 905 held the Vipers’ top-ranked offense to 41-percent shooting. Rockets assignee Kyle Wiltjer led RGV with 25 points, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
After the Vipers rallied to tie that game at 81 with 4:28 remaining, the 905 closed the game on a 13-4 run. Raptors Bruno Caboclo (4 blocks) and Fred VanVleet (16 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists) also contributed, joining Siakam on assignment.
The win sets up the sixth Game 3 since in the 12 seasons in which the Finals were played under a best-of-three format. The Vipers will have another chance to clinch their third title in eight years, while the 905 seeks to cap its historic second season with a championship.
