OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Herd (2-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost its first game in franchise history — a 111-82 contest against the Santa Cruz Warriors (2-2).
Bucks Two-Way player Gary Payton II put up the first points of the game in his debut with the Herd and led all scorers for Wisconsin with 29 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes.
The Santa Cruz Warriors pulled ahead in the first quarter and finished the first half on a 23-4 run to solidify a 56-35 advantage at the break. The Herd was unable to make up ground as five players for Santa Cruz scored in double digits. Golden State Warriors Two-Way player Quinn Cook recorded a double-double (24 points and 10 rebounds) and dished eight assists for Santa Cruz. Michael Gbinije added 21 points over 33 minutes.
