AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Spurs (8-4) fell to the Texas Legends (5-5), 113-105 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Friday night.
Darrun Hilliard led the Spurs with 22 points (9-19 FG, 4-8 3FG), seven rebounds and three assists. Jaron Blossomgame contributed with 19 points (7-14 FG, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and three assists. Olivier Hanlan scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
The Legends went on 12-2 run during the middle of the first quarter and the Spurs countered with their own 7-2 run in the final two minutes. In the second quarter the Spurs came out aggressively going on a 12-4 run and cut into Texas’ lead. The Spurs went into halftime trailing 52-44. In the second half, the Texas Legends outshot the Spurs 55 to 51 percent, scoring 21 fast break points.
For the Legends, Johnathan Motley paced the team with 28 points and 6 rebounds in 35 minutes, while Jameel Warney posted a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes.
