Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves (2-8) were unable to recover after getting outscored 25-6 in the opening eight minutes of the game as the Texas Legends (6-5) cruised to a 125-100 victory at Wells Fargo Arena Sunday afternoon.
Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate player Melo Trimble scored a team-high 22 points and dished out seven assists in the loss.
Amile Jefferson, another Timberwolves affiliate player, continued his stat-stuffing ways, finishing with 19 points and 15 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
In his second consecutive start, Wes Washpun posted a season-high 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field.
The Texas Legends starting five shot a combined 50% from the field for the game, led by a 30-point performance from NBA G League scoring leader Justin Dentmon. Two-way player Johnathan Motley contributed 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Legends.
All five starters finished in double figures for Texas.
Michael Bryson and Perry Jones III each scored in double figures for Iowa off the bench. Bryson finished with 14 points, including four three-pointers made. Jones added 12 points, four rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes of action.
