DES MOINES, Iowa – Anthony Brown broke an Iowa Wolves’ single-game 3-point record (10) while pouring in 35 points to give the Iowa Wolves (11-9) sole possession of the Midwest Division, defeating the Oklahoma City Blue (12-11) 124-102 Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Brown shot 11-of-19 from the field and 10-of-16 from deep while posting a season-high in points. Brown also had a game-high seven assists.
Trailing 53-51 at the half, the Wolves used a 42-26 third quarter that included the team shooting 8-of-9 from deep to take a commanding lead; one which they wouldn’t relinquish.
The Wolves shot a blistering 49.4 percent from the field for the game and 47.5 percent from the 3-point line. The 19 3-pointers made set a new season-high and was four short of the franchise record.
Amile Jefferson posted his third consecutive double-double and 11th of the season, finishing with 20 points, 18 rebounds and six assists. The former Blue Devil shot 6-of-8 from the field and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe.
Shawne Williams poured in a season-high 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Williams also added nine rebounds in the win.
Perry Jones III was helped off the court in the first quarter and did not return to action.
PJ Dozier and Myke Henry each finished with a team-high 19 points for the Blue in just their second loss of the season to a Midwest Division opponent.
