LAKELAND, Fla. — The Lakeland Magic (14-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell 118-115 to the Erie Bayhawks (13-15) on Wednesday night, in front of a home crowd at the RP Funding Center.
The two teams were neck and neck the entire game with the Magic leading by one at the half. The third quarter also remained tight with a one-point differential entering the fourth-quarter but were outscored 31-27 in the fourth.
Two-way player Jamel Artis led the way for the Magic with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists, while affiliate player Troy Caupain had an impressive night with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. Local tryout player Xavier Gibson also had an impressive outing with 19 points and 9 rebounds on the night.
For the Bayhawks, newly added two-way player Andrew White tallied 28 points on the night. Two-way player Josh Magette had a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists. G League Draft player Raphiael Putney was also a key contributor with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
