TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — The Salt Lake City Stars defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 115-114, in front of a sellout crowd at Bruin Arena Saturday night.
The first half of play featured double-digit leads for both teams and Salt Lake City found themselves down 60-58 to head into the half behind Georges Niang’s 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Vipers built a 13-point deficit in the third frame and maintained that lead midway through the fourth. The Stars picked up momentum with 2:11 left in regulation, going on a 15-2 run to take home the win.
Niang notched a double-double on a game-high 30 points and game-high 11 assists. Utah Jazz assignee Tony Bradley (16 points and 11 rebounds) and Naz Mitrou-Long (15 points and 11 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles.
The Vipers were led by Monte Morris’ 21 points, while Chinanu Onuaku and reserve Cleanthony Early both contributed 17 points.
