TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Utah Jazz two-way player Naz Mitrou-Long knocked down a Stars’ record-high eight threes to help lead Salt Lake City to a 117-108 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors.
The first quarter featured six ties and five lead changes with the Stars trailing 32-28. Salt Lake City’s deficit grew to 13 points with 4:45 left to play in the second frame before going on a 19-8 run to close out the half down by two.
Mitrou-Long hit a three-pointer to start the second half to put Salt Lake City up by one. The Stars took control of the game after that never letting the Warriors get closer than four points before regulation ended.
Mitrou-Long poured in a game-high 32 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Diamond Stone added 24 points, while two-way player Georges Niang finished with 20 points.
Santa Cruz was led by Damian Jones’ 27 points. Reserve Damion Lee netted 23 points.
