MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Raptors 905 (25-16) turned in its strongest offensive performance of the season, defeating the Wisconsin Herd (17-21) 129-119 Sunday evening at Air Canada Centre. Toronto Raptors assignee Alfonzo McKinnie led the offensive attack, scoring a team-high 27 points.
Brandon Jennings led a trio of Wisconsin 20-point scorers with a game-high 29 points. James Blackmon Jr. and Ricky Ledo both chipped in 25 points apiece for the Herd.
The 905 asserted itself early with a dominant 37-21 opening quarter.
McKinnie made his mark in the first, scoring 14 of his 27 points in the opening frame. Wisconsin battled back in the second, spearheaded by a 14-point effort from Jennings in the quarter, trimming the lead to 13 by halftime.
Coming out of the break, Kennedy Meeks scored a quarter-high nine points to extend the 905 lead to 105-88 through three-quarters. In the fourth, Wisconsin was able to chisel away at the 905 lead, pulling to within five points by the 1:37 mark. Raptors 905 responded with a 5-0 run to close the game and seal the victory.
