OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Herd (19-22), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, defeated the Maine Red Claws (17-25) in a 106-103 match at Menominee Nation Arena.
The Herd held the advantage throughout the opening frame, outscoring the Red Claws 23-15, and maintained the lead throughout the game. At the 2.5 second mark in the final frame, the Red Claws cut their deficit to one point off of a three-pointer by Boston Celtics assignee Guerschon Yabusele (nine points, six rebounds). Two free throws by Brandon Jennings sealed the wire-to-wire win for Wisconsin.
James Blackmon Jr. led all scorers on the night, pouring in 23 points in 37 minutes for the Herd. Ricky Ledo and Joel Bolomboy recorded double-doubles—Ledo posted 13 points and 10 rebounds while Bolomboy recorded 19 points and 14 rebounds. Jennings added 19 points and dished out eight assists.
University of Wisconsin alum Vitto Brown and Red Claws forward L.J. Peak registered 20 points apiece. Celtics Two-Way player Kadeem Allen posted 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in 39 minutes. Trey Davis contributed 14 points to Maine’s scoring effort.
