Baron Davis may not have a lengthy playoff resume or a litany of awards to his name, but his game made him a fan favorite.

It’s why Golden State’s 2007 upset of the top-seeded Mavericks will forever be mentioned among classic NBA Playoff moments and his posterization of Andrei Kirilenko will forever be played on highlight reels.

It’s also why his decision to join the NBA D-League with hopes of returning to the NBA has become national news.
