Damyean Dotson Plays For Both Westchester and New York Knicks In Single Day

By Alex Busch | November 30, 2017

When Damyean Dotson saw action for both the Westchester and New York Knicks on Wednesday, he joined a special list of players. Only 10 other players have ever played for both their G League and NBA team in a single day. Dotson’s case was just the 14th in league history that it has happened, as both Jordan Farmar and Chris McCullough did it on multiple occasions.

At 11 a.m. at the Westchester County Center, Dotson joined fellow assignee Joakim Noah as the Westchester Knicks hosted the Maine Red Claws. As a starter who appeared in 40 minutes of action, Dotson tallied a team-high 23 points on 8-for-14 shooting (3-for-7 from 3), while adding three rebounds and an assist.

After the Knicks fell 111-100 to the Red Claws, he headed over to Manhattan to prepare for the New York Knicks matchup with the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

Dotson saw six minutes of action, where he scored five points on 2-for-4 shooting (1-for-1 from 3), as the Knicks defeated the Heat, 115-86.

Below is a list of all the occasions in league history where a player has played for both his G League and NBA team in the same day.
