NEW YORK, April 3, 2017 – Santa Cruz Warriors head coach Casey Hill today was named NBA Development League Coach of the Month for games played in March and April.
Hill guided the Warriors to an 11-2 record in March and April, including six road wins. Santa Cruz finished the season on a six-game winning streak to earn the fourth seed in the Western Conference for the 2017 NBA D-League Playoffs, which tip off on Tuesday, April 4.
Under Hill, the Warriors averaged 121.9 points per game during March and April, the third-best mark in the NBA D-League. They also led the NBA D-League in rebounding with 48.5 per game.
In his fourth season as Warriors head coach, Hill has amassed a 114-86 regular-season record while guiding his team to three playoff appearances and the 2015 NBA D-League championship.
Other coaches who received consideration for the monthly award were Northern Arizona’s Ty Ellis, Raptors 905’s Jerry Stackhouse, Rio Grande Valley’s Matt Brase, Texas’ Bob MacKinnon and Windy City’s Nate Loenser.
