DETROIT –  The Motor City Cruise (12-14) fell to the Capital City Go-Go (16-10), 115-99.
After Motor City opened the game on an 8-0 run, Capital City responded with R.J. Hampton scoring 13 points in the first quarter, shooting perfect (5-5) from the floor.
The Cruise knocked down six three-point field goals in the second quarter with Buddy Boeheim shooting 3-4 from beyond the arc to keep the Cruise alive after the first half (65-61).
Capital City went on an 11-4 run early in the third quarter to put the Go-Go back in a double-digit lead over Motor City. However, Motor City responded with a key 16-2 run late in the quarter to tie the game (88-88).
The Go-Go went on a 12-0 run early in the fourth and held Motor City to just 11 points in the quarter to secure the win at home.
The former Detroit Pistons, R.J. Hampton scored 30 points to lead the Go-Go to victory after shooting 9-13 from the floor (4-5 beyond the arc). Hamidou Diallo followed with 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to secure a double-double.
For the Cruise, Jared Rhoden shot 10-18 from the floor to lead Motor City with 23 points in today’s game. Buddy Boeheim came off the bench to score 18 points and knocked down four three-point field goals. The NBA G League assists leader, Zavier Simpson finished with eight assists in today’s game, along with blocking three shots on defense.
The Motor City Cruise will now travel to Cleveland to take on the Charge. Tip-off is slated for 7:00p.m. ET on Saturday, March 9 at the Wolstein Center (Cleveland, OH).
