BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jalen Crutcher’s game-winning deep three with 3.6 seconds to go pushed the Birmingham Squadron to a 102-99 victory over the Memphis Hustle on Monday night at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
Crutcher tallied a season-high 39 points on 15-of-20 shooting, including a 7-of-12 clip from deep. The Dayton product recorded five boards and two assists as well.
Three Squadron (6-6) players, Trey Jemison, Izaiah Brockington and Malcolm Hill rebounded in double-figures on the night, with 13, 11 and 10, respectively. Jemison notched his second double-double of the season with 16 points to go along.
After taking a lead early in the fourth quarter, Birmingham trailed 99-97 with just over 30 seconds to play before a Jemison putback knotted the score at 99 providing an opportunity for Crutcher to win the game.
Birmingham hits the hardwood again on Wednesday for a 9:30 a.m. CT tip at the Osceola Magic. The game can be seen locally on My68 or nationally on NBAGLeague.com.
