Reno, Nevada – The Reno Bighorns locked down a win Friday over the Idaho Stampede 133-122 after leading for the final three quarters at the Reno Events Center.
The Bighorns were led by one of the newest addition to the team, Quincy Miller, who tallied 25 points while adding five rebounds and two blocked shots. Miller was followed by Ra’Shad James, who added 23 points, six assists, three rebounds and three steals.
“I was very proud of the way Ra’Shad played tonight,” said Bighorns head coach Dave Arseneault. “He led by example and did a great job of keeping his teammates involved.”
The Bighorns shot 49-for-98 from the field, as six Bighorns scored in double digits. David Stockton had 16 points with four assists and four rebounds, while Brady Heslip added 12 points.
Out of the gates, Sacramento Kings assignee Eric Moreland added the first points on the board, with the Bighorns scoring a total of 40 points in the first quarter. The Stampede led the Bighorns a total of four times in the first quarter, before the Bighorns stormed away holding onto the lead the remainder of the game.
The Bighorns shot 52.9 percent from the 3-point line, compared to the Stampede’s 36.4 percent.
Kevin Murphy led the Stampede with a total of 19 points and two rebounds. Stampede guard Shane Gibson added 12 points and three rebounds, and shot 4-for-6 from behind the arc.
