FRISCO, Texas — The Texas Legends reached new heights in their 153-131 routing of the Reno Bighorns Saturday night in Frisco.
Mike James, Eric Griffin and Ricky Ledo hit double-digits in the first quarter to spur the Legends to a 52-33 lead at the buzzer. Reno’s Quincy Miller and Jordan Hamilton lit up for 14 and 13 respectively with Hamilton hitting 4-of-4 to attempt a rally for Reno in the second, but the Legends continued to answer. Texas’ shooting slowed before the half but the team hit 71% from outside to round off the largest first half in franchise history, 91-70.
The gap continued to grow coming out of halftime as the Legends took their largest lead of the night 121-89. Despite shooting 35%, the Legends out-rebounded the Bighorns 23-13 to hold onto a 29-point advantage with the fourth quarter looming. Miller came out firing for 10 points and Hamilton added 9 points, 7 rebounds but the 37-30 quarter wasn’t enough to erase the Legends’ double-digit margin.
