FRISCO, Texas — The Bakersfield Jam (10-16) defeated the Texas Legends (12-10) 103-96 Thursday night at the Dr. Pepper Arena. All five Jam starters scored in double-figures, led by Xavier Munford’s 25.
Kyle Casey (11) and Xavier Silas (9) combined for 20 points in the opening period and helped the Jam take a 30-29 lead after one quarter of play. Despite shooting just 27.3 percent from the field in the second period, Bakersfield was able to extend their lead to 56-51 at the break, thanks in part to Terrico White’s double-digit scoring quarter (10).
The Legends outscored the Jam 23-18 in the third frame to make it all even at 74 heading into the final period. The fourth quarter belonged to the Jam as they held Texas to 30.0 percent shooting from the floor and outscored them 29-22. Munford put up 13 of his 25 points in the final frame.
Casey finished with 23 points and six rebounds, while White (19 points, 11 rebounds) and Derek Cooke Jr. (11 points, 13 rebounds) each finished with a double-double. In his first start with the Jam, Xavier Silas tallied 17 points.
The Legends were paced by Tu Holloway (26 points, 6 assists) and Dallas Mavericks assignee Justin Anderson (22 points). Jeremy Evans, also on assignment from the Mavericks, finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
