The Delaware 87ers lost 104-101 to the Westchester Knicks at the Bob Carpenter Center on Friday night to close out the Sevens’ 2015-16 NBA Development League season.
Baron Davis scored 18 points for the 87ers (21-29) and dished out six assists on the night, in his sixth game of the season. David Laury III contributed a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Ty Greene put up 18 points for Delaware. University of Delaware graduate Davon Usher finished with 12 points in 26 minutes off the bench.
The Knicks (28-21) were led by Travis Trice II, who hit 7-of-12 field goals for 21 points. Jimmer Fredette had 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting and seven assists, while Ra’shad James totaled 17 points for the visitors.
Westchester shot 50 percent (11-of-22) from the floor in the first quarter and held a 23-19 lead after one.
Davis nailed a pair of three-pointers in the second, as the 87ers out-scored the Knicks and took a 51-49 advantage into halftime.
Trice went for 10 points in the third, but Delaware still led 78-75 through three quarters.
The Knicks and 87ers traded the lead seven times in the final period, but as Westchester held on to a three-point lead with 3.4 seconds left, a half-court heave from Greene caught front rim to end the game.
While the 87ers season is complete, Westchester will return home to host the Maine Red Claws at 5:00 p.m. ET.
