FRISCO, TX, (Dec. 1, 2016) — Pierre Jackson made a splash in his debut with the Texas Legends (3-3) Thursday night as they defeated the Greensboro Swarm (2-7) 121-106 for their second straight home victory.
The Legends got off to an early lead and never let go. Jameel Warney went 3-of-4 and 3-of-3 from the foul line for 9 points to give the Legends a double-digit lead in the first. The second quarter saw more of the same as the Legends used a 50-25% shooting advantage to increase the gap to 21.
The largest lead of the night came after the break as the Legends went up by 28. Manny Harris went 5-of-7 for 13 points in the third. The Swarm shot 62% and outrebounded Texas 11-7, but the Legends maintained a 22-point edge heading into the final minutes. Greensboro started the fourth with a 19-3 run to come within six, the closest they would come since the early minutes, but the home team responded with eight straight and sailed to the final buzzer.
Jackson led the Legends with 31 points, 11 assists while Harris added 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Warney finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds while Quincy Acy added 16 points, 7 rebounds.
Xavier Munford powered Greensboro with 19 points, 7 rebounds while Perry Ellis (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Mike Tobey (10 points, 11 rebounds) each added double-doubles.
