Des Moines, Iowa (Dec. 3, 2016) – The Iowa Energy (2-7) hung tough against the Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-2) Saturday night before fading late in a 101-117 loss.
The Energy led 86-85 with 10:38 remaining in the fourth quarter against the defending D-League champions before a 32-15 Skyforce run closed the game out.
Matt Costello finished the game with his fifth straight double-double, scoring 22 points along with 12 rebounds.
Wayne Selden Jr. added 19 points and six rebounds while Kalin Lucas chipped in 11 points and seven assists.
Making his debut for the Energy, Chris Crawford finished with nine points, including two three-pointers in 20 minutes of action.
Six Energy players finished in double figures.
Iowa dominated the points in the paint, outscoring their opponent 54 to 38 in that category.
The Skyforce shot a remarkable 50.6% from the field as a team, including 15-29 (51.7%) from the three-point line.
Okaro White paced Sioux Falls offensively with 29 points, adding 10 rebounds. All five starters finished in double figures.
The Energy return to action on Monday against the Texas Legends at 7:00 p.m. from Wells Fargo Arena.
