Des Moines, IA – Wayne Selden Jr. poured in a game-high 30 points as the Iowa Energy (3-20) defeated the Greensboro Swarm (7-18) 105-95 Sunday night. The 30-point performance tied a season-high for the Kansas alum.
The guard also pulled down eight rebounds and recorded six assists.
The win marked the first for interim head coach Glynn Cyprien since taking over the position on Jan. 10.
After a tightly contested first quarter, the Energy used a 39-point second period to springboard to a 62-44 halftime lead.
The Swarm would chip away at the game in the second half, coming within four points at the 3:26 mark, but the Energy would close on a 10-4 run to win their first game in more than a month.
Grizzlies’ assignee Wade Baldwin IV scored 17 points off the bench in 31 minutes of action, including hitting 7 of 8 from the charity stripe.
Cartier Martin added 16 points and eight rebounds in his first home game since coming off the inactive list.
Xavier Munford scored a team-high 21 points for the Greensboro Swarm. Former Energy forward Damien Wilkins added 18 points and eight rebounds.
