Raptors 905 defeated the Long Island Nets 91-65 in its home opener Wednesday night, establishing a new franchise mark for the fewest points scored by an opponent. Five 905 players recorded double-digit point totals, while all 10 players scored at least two points on the evening. Tahjere McCall countered for the Nets, recording 11 points in the loss.
Raptors 905 jumped out to an early five-point lead and never looked back, leading the entire evening, while stifling the Nets offence all night. Bruno Caboclo and Alfonzo McKinnie, both on assignment from the Toronto Raptors, scored 17 and 16 points respectively for the 905. As Lorenzo Brown led the way offensively with 19 points, Kennedy Meeks dominated the glass, recording 17 rebounds and 10 points for his first double-double of the season.
The Nets offence struggled all game, shooting .263 from the field and failing to score more than 18 points in any quarter. JJ Moore, Jeremy Senglin and Thomas Windbush all recorded 10 points for Long Island in defeat.
