OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Wisconsin Herd (2-0), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, was able to hold off a late surge by the Salt Lake City Stars (0-3) to secure a 103-97 victory.
The Herd took an early lead with a 15-0 run to start the first quarter. Michael Dunigan contributed six points early for Wisconsin and finished the night with a double-double, scoring 24 points and collecting 10 rebounds. Xavier Munford led the Herd with 26 points, knocking down 4-of-6 from three-point range over 37 minutes. The Bucks G League affiliate led by as many as 23 points throughout the game and maintained the advantage deep into the fourth quarter.
The Stars took their first lead of the game, 96-94, with 2:58 remaining in the fourth quarter off a Tony Bradley layup with an assist from former Milwaukee Buck, Nate Wolters. Currently a Two-Way Contract player with the Utah Jazz, Wolters led Salt Lake City with 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists over 38 minutes. Bradley added 20 points and four rebounds for the Stars.
