LAKELAND, Fla. — After trailing by as many as 20 points, the Magic battled back in the second quarter and continued to chip away throughout the remainder of the game to secure a 97-95 victory against the Erie Bayhawks. Rodney Purvis led the way, scoring 28 points for the Magic. Khem Birch also had an impressive double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds.
The Bayhawks started the game with a strong 34-21 first quarter but the Magic were able to slowly chip away and were tied 75-75 at the end of the third. After a competitive fourth, the Magic were able to sneak away with the win after outscoring the Bayhawks 22-20 in the quarter. Bayhawks, Josh Magette led the way for the team scoring 20 points, with 11 assists, while Putney had a double-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds.
Today’s win marked the third consecutive win for the Magic who lead the southeast division with a 3-1 record. The Magic will host the Grand Rapids Drive (4-1) and current central division leader, on Tuesday, November 24th at 7PM EST. The game will be available on Facebook Live.
