MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The Wisconsin Herd (6-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost its first game in the state of Wisconsin (127-122) to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (8-1) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Fort Wayne took an early lead, securing a 14-point advantage at the conclusion of the first quarter (38-24) and won its eighth straight. The Herd battled back within five (60-55) at the half, overcoming an 18-point Mad Ant lead in the second quarter. Wisconsin outscored Fort Wayne 35-31 in the final frame, but was unable to close the gap.
Propelled by six players scoring in double-digits, the Mad Ants tied a franchise-record of eight consecutive wins. Ben Moore led all scorers for Fort Wayne posting 28 points and eight rebounds in 41 minutes from the bench. Jarrod Uthoff and Walter Lemon Jr. added 27 points each.
Cliff Alexander notched a career-high 35 points for the Herd in 34 minutes from the bench. Back from playing with Team USA in the November first-round FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers, Xavier Munford tallied 24 points in 31 minutes. James Young contributed 29 points and eight assists.
