OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Herd (8-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, held off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Grand Rapids Drive (6-9) to secure a 91-86 victory. Jarvis Summers connected from beyond the arc with 12 seconds remaining to seal the win.
The Herd enjoyed a 55-38 lead at the half after holding the Drive to 12 points in the second quarter. After a 16-point third quarter by Wisconsin, Grand Rapids was able to cut the lead to two points in the final frame.
Xavier Munford led all scorers with 29 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in 41 minutes. Cliff Alexander added 21 points, eight rebounds and five steals for the Herd in 33 minutes from the bench. The shorthanded Herd was without James Young and Michael Dunigan.
Derek Willis posted a double-double for the Drive, scoring 25 points and hauling in 11 rebounds. Pistons Two-Way player and Marquette University alumni Dwight Buycks added 15 points for Grand Rapids.
The Herd tips off a three-game homestand against the Delaware 87ers on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
