DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Wolves (4-8) defeated the Salt Lake City Stars (3-11) by the final score of 104-98 at Wells Fargo Arena Friday night in a physical affair.
Minnesota Timberwolves 2017 NBA first round draft pick Justin Patton finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four blocks in 16 minutes of action off the bench in his Iowa Wolves debut.
Iowa held Salt Lake City to a season-low 38% (35-of-92) shooting from the field, including 29% (10-of-34) from deep.
Melo Trimble contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and a game-high 10 assists in his third double-double of the season. The former Terrapin shot 5-of-11 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe.
Two-way guard Anthony Brown added 18 points, eight rebounds and a season-high six assists on the evening.
As a team the Wolves blocked 14 shots, almost doubling the team’s previous season-high (8) and setting a new single-game high in the NBA G League for the season.
Elijah Millsap and Amile Jefferson finished with 16 points and seven rebounds apiece as starters for tonight’s game. Perry Jones III added eight points off the bench.
