AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Spurs fell to the Agua Caliente Clippers 94-92 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Thursday night.
Two-way player Darrun Hilliard led the Spurs with 22 points (9-18 FG) to go along with five rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes. Jaron Blossomgame posted double figures for the tenth straight game of his rookie season with 21 points (8-10 FG, 3-4 3FG) and four rebounds in 28 minutes.
Austin (11-8) created an early double-digit lead behind a 22-7 run at the end of the first quarter. The Spurs closed the half with a 10-1 run to lead at halftime 60-43. The Clippers began the second half on a 25-6 run to take a 68-66 lead midway into the third quarter. The fourth quarter stayed close but two late free throws by JJ O’Brien gave the Clippers a two-point lead to win the game.
For the Clippers (12-7), Tyrone Wallace paced Agua Caliente with 24 points and eight rebounds in 32 minutes, while O’Brien contributed with 17 points and four rebounds in 37 minutes.
