FRISCO, Texas — Amile Jefferson notched his fifth consecutive double-double of the season to lead the Iowa Wolves (12-10) past the Texas Legends (12-11) 118-111 on the road Saturday night.
Jefferson finished with a career-high 28 points while tying a career-high in rebounds with 21. The former Duke Blue Devil shot 12-of-18 from the floor.
As a team, the Wolves shot over 50% for just the fourth time this season (51.8%).
Iowa led by as many as 18 points in both the second and third quarters of play, but a late Legends run in the fourth quarter cut the lead to five points with under two minutes remaining. The Wolves hit 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal their third straight road win dating back to Dec. 13.
Iowa has now won 10 out of their last 12 games and are .500 on the road this season (4-4)
Two-way guard Anthony Brown contributed in several key categories Saturday night, finishing with 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
Shawne Williams and Elijah Millsap each finished with big nights off the bench for Iowa. Williams contributed 18 points while shooting 3-of-5 from deep. Millsap, who missed the previous three games due to injury, was back in form tonight finishing with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
