Raptors 905 battled until the final whistle in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, earning a 92-88 victory over Grand Rapids Friday night. The starting guards would feature prominently as 905 guard Lorenzo Brown and Drive guard Kay Felder posted game-high 24-point efforts. Raptors 905 benefitted from timely points from Toronto Raptors assignees Alfonzo McKinnie and Malachi Richardson to earn the victory.
The game was tightly contested from the tip, Grand Rapids gaining a slight 50-49 advantage in the opening half. The Drive shot .512 from the floor in the opening 24 minutes, paced by Felder’s 18 points. The 905 were led by Kennedy Meeks, who posted 11 of his 12 points in the first half.
A 6-0 run from Raptors 905 late in the fourth quarter swung momentum in the teams favor, putting them ahead 88-82 with 3:38 remaining in the game. Grand Rapids would battle back but were unable to retake the lead in the final minutes.
Raptors 905 now head to Westchester for a second-round meeting with the Eastern Conference Champion Knicks. The game will take place Monday, April 2 at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBA TV.
