The Memphis Hustle swept its back-to-back and earned its third straight win by defeating the Austin Spurs 120-106 Saturday night at H-E-B Center. Tonight’s win marks the second three-game winning streak of the season for Memphis and both teams now own records of 8-6.
The teams were neck-and-neck the entire first half, but the Hustle slowly pulled away in the second by outscoring the Spurs 63-50. However, the Hustle first began to take control of the game with an 11-0 run to take a 48-41 lead with 6:04 remaining in the first half.
Memphis built a 106-92 lead with 8:02 remaining in the game, but Austin wouldn’t go away that easily, sparking an 11-0 run over the next 3:06. The Hustle then finished the final 3:43 of game time on a 10-0 run.
Grizzlies assignee Ivan Rabb continued his productive ways with one of the best individual performances for the Hustle season, posting 31 points and a team season-high 14 rebounds on an efficient 12-of-18 from the field. Tyler Harvey had yet another big night when replacing Jevon Carter in the starting lineup, scoring 26 points and knocking down four three-pointers (4-9 3P). Tarik Phillip was two assists shy of a triple-double, tying a season-high of 14 points and setting a new season-high for rebounds (10). Markel Crawford and Dusty Hannahs scored 14 points apiece.
Nick Johnson led the Spurs with a 21-point effort. Drew Eubanks, Lonnie Walker IV and Jeff Ledbetter dropped in 14 points each. Ben Moore (12 points) and Chimezie Metu (11 points) also reached double digits.
