PHILADELPHIA – JAN. 8, 2019 – The Delaware Blue Coats (9-13), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Raptors 905 (14-10), 119-108, on Tuesday afternoon at The Center in Philadelphia. 76ers two-way player Shake Milton posted 33 points (12-18 fg, 2-4 3fg, 7-8 ft), 6 rebounds and 8 assists in 37 minutes.
Rashad Vaughn scored 19 points (7-13 fg, 3-6 3fg, 2-2 ft) in 24 minutes off the bench in his second game with the Blue Coats since being acquired in a trade with the Texas Legends. Cameron Oliver finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds in 26 minutes, narrowly missing his seventh straight double-double.
The Blue Coats trailed by two points at the halftime break, but outscored the visitors 60-47 in the second half.
“I think we just tightened up a little bit,” said head coach Connor Johnson. “We kind of locked in on the game plan defensively, knowing who their shooters were. We had a couple lapses in the second quarter. Consistency has been a thing for us all year long, and I thought we had a better stretch in the third and fourth quarter.”
Deng Adel topped a list of six players in double figures for the Raptors 905, tying a season-high with 25 points (9-12 fg, 4-6 3fg, 3-3 ft) in 30 minutes off the bench. Malachi Richardson, on assignment from the Toronto Raptors, tallied 17 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes.
The Blue Coats return to The Center on Wednesday night for a 7:00 p.m. meeting with the Lakeland Magic. For information on tickets, please visit SIXERS.COM/BlueCoats.
