AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Spurs (16-19), presented by SWBC, defeated the Oklahoma City Blue (25-11), 111-109, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Friday evening.
John Holland led scoring with 19 points (4-11 FG, 4-9 3FG, 7-7 FT) in 25 minutes. Amida Brimah contributed 18 points (9-12 FG) and a game-high nine rebounds and three blocks. Travis Trice notched a double-double of 10 points and 11 assists. DeJuan Blair recorded a season-high 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-7 FT).
The first quarter featured four lead changes and two ties, with the Silver and Black finishing the period with a quarter-high eight point advantage. The Blue controlled the second frame, outscoring the Spurs 36-24 in the quarter for a halftime lead of 59-54.
After tying the game heading into the fourth, the Spurs took a lead that they would not concede for the remainder of the contest. The Blue were able to fight back to within just two points in the final seconds, but were unable to convert on the final shot of the game.
For Oklahoma City, Chris Wright notched 21 points (9-13 FG). Scotty Hopson recorded 17 points (8-13 FG) and a team-high-tying five assists.
