FRISCO, Texas — The Oklahoma City Blue (30-15) defeated the Texas Legends (15-31), 128-111, on Tuesday night.
Oklahoma City took its largest lead of the game at 28 points after a free throw from Bryce Alford early in the fourth quarter. Though the teams played an even fourth quarter with 33 points apiece, Oklahoma City was able to cruise to victory.
Alford scored six points in the fourth quarter and finished with 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds off the bench. Oklahoma City had seven players score in double figures, led by a career-high 26 points for Kevin Hervey who added eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
The Legends scored the first points of the game, but it was all Oklahoma City for the remainder of the first quarter. Thunder assignment player Hamidou Diallo and Hervey combined to score 18 points in the opening quarter and the Blue led 32-26 after the first.
Diallo finished with 18 points and added a season-high nine rebounds. Two-way player Donte Grantham narrowly missed out on a double-double, tallying 13 points and nine rebounds.
Oklahoma City saw its lead trimmed to single digits with under five minutes left in the first half but went on a 14-6 run to close the quarter and led by 16 at halftime. Dez Wells scored eight off the bench as the Blue outscored the Legends, 34-24, in the second quarter.
Wells finished with 17 points as Oklahoma City’s bench outscored Texas’, 57-39. Texas was led by 19 points from Keith Hornsby.
The Blue outscored the Legends in the paint, 62-34 and shot 51.7 percent in the game, going to 13-1 in games in which it shoots above 50 percent.
