SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 111-99 tonight, earning the club’s third-straight win.
Six players finished in double figures for the Stars. Juwan Morgan led the team with a season-high 20 points on 6-of-10 (.600) from the field and 2-of-3 (.667) from three-point range.
The center also tallied six rebounds and four steals in 29 minutes. Utah Jazz assignment player Nigel Williams-Goss recorded 18 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Kyle Collinsworth posted 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Trevon Bluiett finished with 15 points in 29 minutes off the bench. William Howard (11 points) and Utah Jazz two-way player Jarrell Brantley (13 points) also finished with double-digit efforts.
Miami Heat two-way player Daryl Macon led the Skyforce in scoring, finishing with a game-high 29 points on 11-of-19 (.579) from the floor. He also tallied nine assists and two rebounds. Mychal Mulder posted 19 points and four rebounds, while Davon Reed scored 16 points to go with four rebounds. Center Kyle Alexander had a near double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
There were four lead changes in the game, all of which were in the first quarter. However, Salt Lake City came out of the period on top, leading Sioux Falls 34-28. The Stars extended their advantage to as many as 18 points (6:56 left in the second). The Skyforce made a late push but were unable to overcome the Stars’ early lead.
The Stars held the advantage in field goals (42-37), three-pointers (16-11), rebounds (38-32), assists (27-21) and blocks (8-4), while the Skyforce grabbed more steals (15-13), tallied more points in the paint (50-38) and committed fewer turnovers (19-21).
