SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Oklahoma City Blue (11-16) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (15-11), 129-125 on Saturday night.
Oklahoma City led by as many as 21 points in the game, but the Warriors had a strong second half, and only trailed by two points with 59.1 seconds left after a layup from Alen Smailagić. Markel Brown and Devon Hall closed out the win for the Blue, as they combined to score Oklahoma City’s final seven points.
Brown finished with 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, while Hall had his fourth 20-plus point game of the season with 23 points and five rebounds.
Both teams started strong offensively and after a back-and-forth first quarter, Oklahoma City trailed 39-37. The Blue bounced back with yet another 45-point quarter in the second frame to claim an 82-66 lead at halftime. Kadeem Jack led the way at halftime for the Blue with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Jack finished with a season-high 26 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. Blue guard Abdul Gaddy led the way with a game-high 27 points to go along with seven assists and four rebounds. Six players for Oklahoma City scored in double-figures, with five of the six tallying over 15 points.
Oklahoma City shot 54.9 percent from the field, including 43.2 percent from three-point range. The Blue outrebounded the Warriors, 43-42, and the teams pulled even with assists, each dishing 20.
Santa Cruz was led by guard Jeremy Pargo who scored 26 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds.
