OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Oklahoma City Blue (17-18) defeated the Long Island Nets (14-20), 137-118, on Tuesday night.
Three Vincent Edwards 3-pointers highlighted an 11-2 run to close the third quarter and brought the Blue advantage to 10 points going into the fourth. The lead would get as large as 23 in the final frame, and the Blue would hold on to win their fifth game in the last six outings.
The Blue was led by Edwards who scored a career-high 35 points on 13-of-14 shooting and added 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks off the bench.
“Credit to Long Island, they took our pace out of the game in the first half and trimmed the lead,” Coach Grant Gibbs said. “But our halftime adjustments were really good, and I thought we did a good job of defending without fouling and contesting shots at the rim.”
Devon Hall had a double-double, leading all Blue starters with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Kadeem Jack was a perfect 8-of-8 from the field, scoring 18 points to go with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Two-way player Kevin Hervey scored 13 points, while Thunder assignment player Isaiah Roby contributed eight points, six rebounds and a game-high three blocks.
The Blue out-rebounded the Nets 55-37 and the bench outscored Long Island’s 75-27.
Long Island was led by Justin Anderson, who scored a G League season-high 48 points on 15-of-22 shooting including 8-of-10 from behind the arc.
