Raptors 905 (1-1) were defeated by the Erie BayHawks (2-0) 138-126 Friday morning at AdventHealth Arena. Jordan Bell led the BayHawks with 25 points and six rebounds, while the 905 were paced by Toronto Raptors assignee Malachi Flynn, who posted 25 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the defeat
The opening half was tightly contested with 12 lead changes in the opening 24 minutes, Erie taking a slight three-point advantage, 70-67, into the break. Two-way Will Magnay led the BayHawks with 16 points off the bench, while Flynn led all scorers with 17 at the half.
Erie stormed out to start the third quarter, but the 905 clawed back and trimmed the deficit to two, heading to the final frame. The teams continued to trade baskets in the fourth, before Erie went on a 14-0 run midway through the frame to seal the game.
The 905 return to action tomorrow night, when they face Team Ignite at 7 p.m., while Erie enjoys another 11 a.m. tip tomorrow against Austin.
