ORLANDO, FL – February 12, 2021 – The Iowa Wolves (0-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, gave up a 20-point margin in route to a 94-96 loss to the Agua Caliente Clippers (1-1) tonight at the HP Field House.
Iowa led by as much as 20 points in the first half, led by 8-of-10 shooting from Tyler Cook and a team overall shooting percentage of 51.2 through two quarters. Cook finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds, to tally his second double-double in two games, and also lead the team in both categories. Barry, Trier, Wigginton and Morris contributed double-digits in the loss.
Iowa cooled off in the second half, allowing the Clippers to tie the game midway through the fourth at 82-82 on a three-pointer from Tyrone Wallace. Dante Grantham scored another three-pointer back-to-back with Wallace at the 5:43 mark to give Agua Caliente their first lead of the game, and they didn’t look back.
Amir Coffey led the way for Agua Caliente with 20 points, while Emanuel Terry grabbed 15 boards.
The Wolves will take on the Salt Lake City Stars on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2:30pm CT at HP Field House.
