ORLANDO – The Delaware Blue Coats (2-0), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (0-2), 103-92, on Friday night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. 76ers two-way contract player Paul Reed notched his second double-double in as many days with a game-high 23 points (10-17 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and a game-high four steals. As a team, the Blue Coats recorded 15 steals and forced the Warriors into 26 turnovers.
Five Blue Coats scored in double figures, with 76ers two-way contract player Rayjon Tucker finishing with 18 points and Justin Robinson posting all 15 of his points, each of his five assists and both of his steals in the second half.
Delaware held Santa Cruz to 31 first-half points on 9-32 (.281) shooting. For the game, the Blue Coats dominated the battle for points in the paint, 58-30.
For the Warriors, rookie two-way contract player Nico Mannion posted a team-high 22 points (8-17 FG, 3-12 3FG, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes of action. Jordan Poole, on assignment from Golden State, tallied 19 points (7-19 FG, 4-14 3FG, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and four assists in a game-high 40:21 of action. Axel Toupane also scored 19 points (4-9 FG, 3-7 3FG, 4-5 FT), adding 11 rebounds for a double-double in defeat.
