CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (1-2) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, topped the Windy City Bulls (1-2), 103-94, at the Wolstein Center on Tuesday night for their first victory of the regular season. The win also snapped a six game losing streak for the Charge that dated back to Showcase Cup qualifying.
Cleveland’s Tre Scott had a monster double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds in 39 minutes. Justin James scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed eight boards in 33 minutes. Malik Newman scored 21 points and dished out seven assists in 34 minutes. Josh Huestis had an all-around effort of nine points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 30 minutes. The Charge outscored the Bulls 24-13 in the third quarter and led for the entire second half.
Windy City was paced by Kerwin Roach’s double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds with six assists in 40 minutes. Daniel Oturu also added a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds with two steals and two blocks in 31 minutes. Bryce Alford came off the bench to add 14 points and five boards in 28 minutes.
