LAKELAND, Fla. — The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Long Island Nets 123-121 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
On the second night of the back-to-back, the Magic started the game off red hot, shooting over sixty percent from the field and three-point line in the first quarter. Orlando Magic two-way player Admiral Schofield led Lakeland early with 11 points going 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from three in just five minutes. Lakeland kept up the sharp shooting in the second quarter and took a 59-58 lead going into the half.
Long Island’s Craig Randall II led all scorers in the game, dropping 25 of his 36 points in the second half and helped the Nets take and maintain the lead throughout most of the final two periods. Ignas Brazdeikis, Lakeland’s other Orlando Magic two-way player, poured in 26 points of his own, including a clutch three-point shot that tied the game with one minute left. The two teams traded baskets in the final sixty seconds before the Nets claimed victory by two points.
Schofield finished with a team-high 32 points, including six made threes and 10 rebounds. Brazdeikis had eight assists and six rebounds to go with his 26 points. Aleem Ford added 17 points and three rebounds.
Randall finished with 36 points, and three assists with eight made threes. Jordan Crawford posted 22 points and three assists. David Duke Jr. scored 19 points with six rebounds and five assists.
