ONTARIO, CA– The Agua Caliente Clippers (13-6) cruise to a wire-to-wire victory over the Birmingham Squadron (10-9), 121-105, on Monday night to snap a two-game losing streak.
A pair of Clippers recorded double-doubles, led by Xavier Moon’s game-high 28 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Shevon Thompson rounded out the group with 11 points and 12 rebounds on the night.
Birmingham was led by Trey Murphy III’s 19 points and seven rebounds. Darius Adams contributed 19 points off the bench in the losing effort.
The game belonged to Agua Caliente from start to finish as the home squad led by as much as 19 in the win. The key tonight was the Clippers’ work on the offensive glass, where they outrebounded the Squadron 14 to six, translating to 19 second-chance points.
The Clippers look for a sweep tomorrow as they run it back for the tail end of a back-to-back against these same Birmingham Squadron. The game is slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. PT inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
