WILMINGTON – April 5, 2022 – The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, beat the Long Island Nets, 133-116 on Tuesday night at Chase Fieldhouse. Seven Blue Coats scored in double figures. Delaware will take on the No. 2 seed Motor City Cruise in round two in Detroit.
Jaden Springer, on assignment from the 76ers, led the Blue Coats with 26 points (8-11 FG, 2-2 3FG), 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Two-way contract player Myles Powell dropped 25 points and 3 rebounds for Delaware.
Charles Bassey, on assignment from the 76ers, added 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks. Delaware’s Aaron Henry scored 17 points, along with 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Delaware got out to an 18-point halftime lead that they never relinquished. This marks the second straight season that the Blue Coats have advanced in the playoffs.
Tyrone Wallace dropped 28 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3FG, 5-6 FT) and 6 assists to lead the Nets. David Duke Jr. added 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists for Long Island.
UP NEXT: The Blue Coats will travel to Detroit to take on the Motor City Cruise in round two. The Coats went 1-1 against the Cruise this season. The game will take place on Friday, April 8, at 8:30 p.m
