The Westchester Knicks entered the NBA G League during the 2014-2015 season. Westchester replaced the Erie BayHawks as the New York Knicks’ G League affiliate, becoming the 7th NBA G League team to be owned and operated by an NBA franchise.
In their four seasons as a franchise, the Westchester Knicks have qualified for the playoffs twice. Since Mike Miller took over as head coach of the team in 2015, the Knicks have gone 79-71, qualifying for the postseason twice and winning the Atlantic Division champion for the first time in 2018. Miller won NBA G League Coach Of The Year following the 2017-2018 season.
Westchester has had four players named to All-NBA G League teams in Jimmer Fredette (Second Team), Jordan Bachynski (Third Team), Trey Burke (Third Team) and Luke Kornet (Third Team). Langston Galloway was the team’s first ever NBA Call-Up, while Thanasis Antetokoumpo was the Knicks’ second. Westchester is also the first ever NBA G League franchise to call New York state their home, followed by the Long Island Nets.
