The United States Basketball Team defeated Argentina (4-1) in the FIBA AmeriCup Finals Sunday, 81-76, capping off a perfect 5-0 tournament with the gold.
Texas Legends forward Jameel Warney led the US with 21 points and seven rebounds against Argentina. Darrun Hilliard, who has spent time with the Grand Rapids Drive, added 15 points and six rebounds, while Reno Bighorns’ Reggie Hearn scored 14 points with six rebounds.
The United States trailed in each of the first three quarters, and by as many as 20 points in the second half before a strong 31-point fourth quarter boosted the team late.
