INCREDIBLE ISAIAH: Houston Rockets assignee Isaiah Hartenstein was named NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8. The 7-foot center averaged 30.5 points and 20.0 rebounds while shooting 75.0 percent from the field in two games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Hartenstein and the Vipers will host the Iowa Wolves on Wednesday, March 11 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
SIX FOR THE STARS: On March 6, the Salt Lake City Stars clinched their second consecutive playoff berth with a 102-98 victory over the Wolves. With head coach Martin Schiller at the helm, the team has won six consecutive games and leads the Western Conference. Salt Lake City visits the Northern Arizona Suns on Wednesday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
LAKELAND LEADERS: Orlando Magic two-way players Amile Jefferson and Josh Magette have led the Lakeland Magic to five straight wins. In a 129-116 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats on March 8, Jefferson registered 31 points and 16 rebounds and Magette finished with 38 points and 11 assists. Lakeland will host the Erie BayHawks tonight at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Wisconsin Herd second-year forward D.J. Hogg scored 36 points in a 115-109 victory over the Westchester Knicks on March 6. Wisconsin has won eight of its last 10 games.
On March 8, Texas Legends guard Cameron Payne recorded 38 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in a 124-119 victory over the Austin Spurs. Texas is 24-19 on the season.
Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Stephan Hicks tallied 32 points and nine rebounds in a 116-112 win over the College Park Skyhawks on March 6. Hicks is averaging 14.9 points on the season.
In a 121-113 victory over the Memphis Hustle on March 4, center Kadeem Jack paced the Oklahoma City Blue with 24 points and 19 rebounds.
Toronto Raptors guard Norman Powell was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 20 of the 2019-20 season (March 2-8). Powell averaged 31.3 points during the Raptors’ 3-0 week, highlighted by a career-high 37 points in a playoff-clinching 121-113 victory at the Golden State Warriors on March 5. His season scoring average (16.4 ppg) is nearly double his career high set last season (8.6 ppg).
