Isaiah Thomas Named G League Player Of The Week

Grand Rapids Gold guard Isaiah Thomas was named NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 27. The two-time NBA All-Star averaged 41.3 points and 6.3 assists in three games for the Gold, including pouring in a G League season-best 46 points in their 122-106 victory over the Greensboro Swarm on Feb. 26. This followed a 33-point performance against the Maine Celtics on Feb. 24, where he also added 7 assists. He started off the week with a 45-point outburst on Feb. 23 against the Windy City Bulls. Thomas helped lead the Gold to a 2-1 record on the week.

Following this week, Thomas now has two of the three highest-scoring performances of the G League Regular Season, with his 46 point display leading the way while his 45-point game sits tied for 2nd with Gabe York of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Thomas returned to the Gold after playing one game for the team earlier this season, scoring 43 points in his G League debut against the Mad Ants on Dec. 15. He proceeded to sign 10-Day Contracts with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks in the following weeks. After this week's performance, has Thomas reportedly signed a 10-Day Contract with the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
